The Biennial of the Lynched Celebrates the Holy Market Economy

Ulla Karttunen Capitalism as the New Name of God

The Biennial of the Lynched is an impossibility. The lynched ones never celebrate, and no biennials are organised for them. The winners, and those butchers who have washed their hands, celebrate.

The lynched ones do not arrive to the party. They do not find suitable shoes. And by the way, they are no more alive. If someone of the lynched is still alive, he or she does not come. The lynched ones do not participate the feast, for not to repeat the execution.

The materials of the art work were cleaning equipments, but the result was not very neat. A dirty party with bloody gloves and cleaning towels. ”Hygienische Neoliberalistische Blut Arbeit Macht Frei” tell the bloody letters in the cleaning wipes.

This piece is opposite of beautiful and qualified; it is disgusting, stupid and ugly. But do not blame art if reality is terrible.

The work The Biennial of the Lynched Celebrates the Holy Market Economy deals with the hidden parts of the hygienic neoliberal glory: market economy as the first global religion, and market-based censorship as its special cultural form.
